The entertainment industry is one of the most competitive businesses in the world. If you're going to compete against working professionals, you have to know the standards—and those standards are very high. In order to work and work consistently, you must surpass those standards. You can't succeed as a professional screenwriter without professional training and feedback. Every script that's written is the product of literally thousands of decisions. One might say your success as a screenwriter comes down to your success as a decision maker. Joining the Screenwriters Federation of America is one of the most important decisions you will make as a Screenwriter.

First and foremost, our mission is to educate and incubate both aspirant and professional Screenwriters. You will not succeed as a professional Screenwriter without professional feedback. In fact, if you talk to most script analysts and acquisition/development professionals in the major markets (Los Angeles & NY), they will tell you that well over ninety-percent (90%) of the scripts they read fail because of unprofessional screenplay formatting and poor story structure. Our mission is to help you become a master at your craft, thereby reducing the probability of failure at the most rudimentary level, i.e., story structure and screenplay formatting. Master these skills, and you'll quickly join that 10% who have the knowledge and craftsmanship to seamlessly transform great premises into great screenplays.

It's often been said that screenwriting is the loneliest job in the world. It doesn't have to be anymore. As a Member of the Screenwriters Federation of America, you will have unlimited access to an international community of screenwriters and entertainment professionals. Whether you're looking to break down the walls to Hollywood for the first time, or you're a seasoned veteran, the SFA is a plethora of priceless knowledge and insight.

The greatest SFA member benefit is the personal, one-on-one professional mentorship we provide to each and every member. Whether you're starting your first script, or looking for strategies to market it, SFA professionals are standing by to assist you with questions 24/7. Whenever possible, we kindly suggest that SFA Members submit their questions to the SFA Forums page. This will generate a valuable thread for screenwriters to learn from and reduce the number of emails for us to address. However, we do understand that occasionally our Members need to reference specific, confidential facts in order to communicate their inquiries. In this regard, please use the Contact link located on the bottom footer and use the Members Contact Form. If your inquiry requires in-depth consultation, an SFA professional will call you personally (at no charge) to discuss your question(s).

SFA Members will also have access to our industry databases of Agents, Managers, Film/TV Productions Companies, Broadcast Networks and Studios. In addition, all SFA Members will also receive a gold embossed certificate of membership suitable for framing. International applications are welcomed. There's no reason to be alone and isolated any longer. Join the SFA today.
